More women needed in dairy industry leadership

The lack of South Australian dairy women in industry leadership roles is being tackled this year through a newly introduced leadership development program, giving women the skills and confidence they need to build pathways from the paddock to the boardroom.

The DairySA program, 2Bherd: Learn, Link, Lead, will use the experience of  recognised female industry leaders to motivate aspiring dairy women to develop leadership skills and action plans, so they can actively and assertively participate in dairy industry committees, boards and projects.

Young SA dairy farmers will take to the skies and the screen

Young South Australian dairy farmers will use three of their favourite things: travel, technology and film, in an exciting and innovative leadership project this year to attract and retain young people to the dairy industry.

The DairySA iDairy: A sustainable farming future project is a once in a lifetime opportunity for participants to be involved in an overseas study tour to China, Sweden, Holland and Chile, and use their own creativity and technological know-how to develop a 30-minute documentary and a three-minute short film based on their experiences.
