Dairy Australia’s Grains2Milk program is helping Australian dairy farmers: 

  • Take greater control of their purchasing of feed grains / concentrates
  • Improve their use of feed grains / concentrates on farm to produce milk, within their chosen feeding system through a number of research, development and extension project

Grains2Milk program also responded to dairy farmers’ more immediate needs, supporting their decision making during drought conditions, through feed.FIBRE.future.

Heat stress is something that Australian dairy farmers and must deal with effectively. It has substantial impacts on milk production, fertility, milk quality, cow health and welfare.

Considering this, Grains2Milk has pulled together current knowledge on managing in the heat under Australian conditions and developed the Cool Cows website and the Cool Cows booklet.
